Gifts of Art

The Cantor Arts Center collection includes some 44,000 works covering the history of art and a multitude of cultures. The core of the collection was provided by the university's founders, Jane and Leland Stanford, and has since been assembled, largely through the generosity of donors, both alumni and friends. Many donors make a gift of art to enhance the Museum's collections and to support its mission as a teaching and research institution, so that future generations can experience the power and enjoyment of learning through great works of art.

The museum welcomes gifts of art consistent with the focus of its collections and the museum's commitment to excellence. To inquire about making a gift of art, please contact Jess Ventura by email at at
