Travel Ban Information

Members of the Stanford community can find general information and resources relating to the travel ban and related matters here.

Stanford students and scholars who may be affected by the travel ban may direct questions to the Bechtel International Center at travelban@stanford.edu.

Individuals who are not members of the Stanford community but who may be affected by the travel ban and need legal advice can call the following hotlines:

Low-Cost Legal Consults for Individuals in Removal ("Deportation") Proceedings

  • If you are a low-income San Francisco resident and currently in removal proceedings, you can call (415) 896-1701 to schedule an appointment with the Asian Law Caucus’s free immigration clinic. The clinic:
    • is by appointment only
    • meets at 5:30pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month
    • meets at 55 Columbus Ave., San Francisco, CA
  • If you are a low-income San Mateo or Santa Clara county resident and currently in removal proceedings, you can call (650) 326-6440 to schedule an appointment with Community Legal Services of East Palo Alto (CLSEPA)’s immigration program. CLESPA also hosts drop-in hours (no appointment necessary) on Monday-Thursday (9am- 1pm) at 1861 Bay Road, East Palo Alto, CA.
