Planning a Spring Break visit to Stanford?
In order to maximize the benefit of your campus visit, the Stanford Visitor Center strongly encourages you to plan your visit for some time outside the peak period of March 16 through April 14, 2019.
Though we certainly understand the desire and practicality of utilizing your Spring Break to visit campuses, we strongly encourage you to reconsider your dates if you can! For prospective students who are interested in getting a good feel for the Stanford campus and the chance to see and do many things, we encourage you to try to do so during a time other than the peak period of March 16 through April 14. These are the days of highest visitor volume all year. Unfortunately, they are also the dates when we have the fewest students available to provide tours, due to the final exams period and Stanford's own Spring Break. You can expect tour groups to average from 200-350 people per time slot, and only a few of the wonderful offerings that come with visiting while we are in actual academic session are available. The best times of year to visit Stanford are from mid-January through early March, from mid-April through late May (before Memorial Day), and from early October through Mid-November -- when we are in full session, full sunshine, fully programmed, and fully staffed! You will have the opportunity to sit in on classes, to have moderately sized tour groups, to interact with current undergrads, and to explore student life as it is happening. No matter when you come, however, we will do our very best to make your Stanford visit an enjoyable and informative one!
Updated Tour and Program Registration! (UPDATED 03/04/2019)
Programs and tour through August 30, 2019 are now available for online registration!
Tours and programs up through the end of Summer Quarter (and through August 30) are currently posted for online registration. Additional program offerings during this time period may be added as scheduling availability allows.
PLEASE NOTE that we do not generally offer our "Specialty Tours" (Engineering Quad, Humanities & Arts, Athletics & Recreational Opportunities) nor our Monday/Friday "Student Forum" in between the end of Spring Quarter and the beginning of Fall Quarter. You can watch this website for the possible occasional addition of any of these programs, but we ask that you do not call to inquire about them. During the summer we are generally unable to know on a consistent basis if we we will be able to offer these tours and programs any sooner than 1-2 weeks ahead of time. Our guides will be happy to assist you with information on how to visit this areas when you arrive on campus.
