Stanford Conferences wins Outstanding Institutional Achievement Award
Exceptional planning, beautiful facilities and an array of year-round conference options are hallmarks of Stanford Conferences. Now add long-term achievement to the list. Stanford Conferences was recently recognized by the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors – International (ACCED-I), receiving the prestigious ACCED-I 2015 Outstanding Institutional Achievement Award for a Long-Term Process.
According to ACCED-I, the Stanford Conferences team received the award for its accomplishments over the past eight years. This includes achieving substantial business growth and building a collegiate conference operation that clearly reflects the team’s innovation and entrepreneurship, business acumen, work ethic as well as commitment to excellence.
Starting in 2007, the team at Stanford Conferences has worked to transform its operations from a successful summer conference program to a model conference and meetings enterprise that utilizes its expertise in all facets of the meetings and events industry. The team’s meeting planning services and conference center management services were enhanced to be a robust list of services that includes a core summer conference business.
Stanford Conferences Team wins 2017 Keith L. Guy Award for Exemplary Service
The R&DE Stanford Conferences team won the highest team award in the department in ceremonies held at the Arrillaga Family Dining Commons in December 2017. The Keith L. Guy Award was presented to the R&DE Stanford Conferences Team (Phillip M. Gin, Suzanne Bennett, Carolyn Tomlin, Chong Johnson, Natalia Guillen, Brigid Neff, Charles Keegan, Suzette Escobar, Denise Gonzalez, Marche Simon, Meredith Noe, Sandhya Patel, Raji Bassi, Tanya Walker, and Anthony Aguilar) for Exemplary Service in Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE). The award name is in recognition of the vision and integrity of Keith L. Guy displayed in teamwork and service to Stanford University from 1986 - 2001.Led by their executive director, Phil Gin, the team was lauded for their contributions to R&DE in achieving their business objectives throughout the year. Despite a challenging summer conferences season, the team managed to achieve record sales and expanded their meeting planning business to other campus departments.
Stanford Conferences Meeting Planning Team wins Industry Award
Meeting Planning Manager Brigid Neff and Meeting Planner Christina Cusack recently won the coveted Meeting Professionals International Northern California Chapter’s (MPINCC) Award for Meeting Professionals of the 4th Quarter (April, May, June 2018). MPINCC relies heavily on volunteers, and nominees for this distinguished award displayed exemplary contributions that helped achieve committee goals and objectives.
Brigid Neff recently served as co-chair of the MPINCC Gala and Awards Committee, successfully managing this multi-faceted event attended by members of the professional organization. The sold-out gala at the California Academy of Sciences in June showcased the best of meeting planning trends. Christina Cusack helped with CMP University (CMPU, the training course for CMP candidates) and also volunteered with MPINCC’s marketing team by designing logos and graphics for various MPINCC events. Another MP team member has also been honored for her contributions to the meeting planning profession. Meeting Planner and Conferences Operations Manager Suzette Escobar served as co-chair of the committee tasked with overseeing course arrangements and helping candidates prepare for the Certification in Meeting Planning (CMP) exam. Many newly minted CMPs in the industry are grateful to Suzette and have greatly benefited from her hard work.
