Dear Eric Holder: Try Accused Criminals in Courts of Law
The Robert Jackson Steering Committee, a group of lawyers and journalists founded to uphold the principles of the Nuremberg Trials, is urging the Department of Justice to proceed with trying Khalil Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) and other suspected 9/11 terrorists in federal criminal court, and not in military commissions.
In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, the Committee enumerates several substantial problems with military commissions:

War Is Over (If They Mean It)

Sixty-five congress members, including 60 Democrats and 5 Republicans, voted to end the occupation of Afghanistan on Wednesday. But 356 congress members, including 189 Democrats and 167 Republicans voted to keep the war going. The vote followed three hours of debate created by Congressman Dennis Kucinich's introduction of a privileged resolution.

JUNEAU -- A House committee added a ban on foreign campaign contributions Tuesday to a bill designed to counter some of the effects of a Supreme Court decision that freed corporations and unions to spend unlimited money on elections.
