Juba Mass Demonstration in Support of SPLM's Decision
(Juba - 17 Oct 2007) Tuesday saw a mass demonstration in Juba in support of the SPLM's decision that saw the recall of its ministers from the Unity Government.

The procession that started at Malakia residential area matched all the way to Dr. Garangs Mausoleum were petitions were handed over to the President of Southern Sudan and Chairman of the SPLM Gen. Salva Kiir. The 8KM walk around the town witnessed pro CPA implementation chants and praises in support of the President and the SPLM by thousands of people.

SPLM Recalls GONU Ministers

We have a national crisis, because the National Congress Party is violating the Comprehensive Peace Agreement” SG Amum

(Juba - 12 Oct 2007 ) The Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) announced Thursday that it has recalled all its ministers from the Government of National Unity (GONU) thus putting the partnership with NCP on hold. This move came as a result of a series of violations by the NCP over the implementation of Comprehensive Peace Agreement CPA signed two years ago in Naivasha, Kenya.

SPLM Appoints a Crisis Management Team

Juba: A Crisis Management Team headed by Deputy Chairman of the SPLM Malik Agar has been appointed by the SPLM to engage the National Congress Party (NCP) in dialogue after the recall of all SPLM GONU ministers. The team will also try to avoid any further deterioration of the relationship between the SPLM and NCP.
