The House at Sugar Beach

CSIS hosted a reception with New York Times White House correspondent Helene Cooper discussing her book, The House at Sugar Beach: In Search of a Lost African Childhood. She grew up in a Liberian family descended from freed American slaves and came to the U.S. in the 1980s when her homeland broke into civil war. The event was moderated by CSIS vice president for External Relations Andrew Schwartz.
