To edit your date of birth:

1. Click the Edit Profile (Update Info) button at the top of your profile (timeline)
2. Enter your birthday in the Birthday field
3. Save your changes

Note: We have limits in a place around the number of times you can edit your birthday. If you recently edited your birthday, you may have to wait a few days before changing it again. Learn more about our Community Standards.

To adjust how your birthday appears to your friends, click Edit (Update Info) button along the top of your profile (timeline) and find the Basic Info section. From here, you have two different ways to control your birthday visibility:

1. Pick who can see your birthday. Choose an audience from the inline audience selector on the far right.
2. Choose which parts of your birthday your audience sees. Use the dropdown under your birthday fields to choose. You can display your full birthday, or just the month and day, or you can hide your birthday completely.

Note: If you hide your birthday completely, your friends won't receive reminders when it's approaching. If you still want them to receive these reminders, you will need to at least make the month and day visible to your friends.

To view upcoming birthdays, select Events from the left side of your home page and then click "Birthdays" at the bottom of the Events page. Use the arrows at the bottom of this section to see friends' past and future birthdays.

You can also click "Birthdays" at the top right of your home page if at least one of your friends has a birthday today.

You can view friends' birthdays that have already occurred by clicking the back arrow at the bottom of the Birthdays section.

To get to the Birthdays section, click the Events tab on the left side of your home page. From there, go to the bottom of the page and click the Birthdays link.

You can view today’s birthdays in the Today section in the upper-right corner of your home page.

You can also click the "See All" link within this section to view all upcoming birthdays and events.

We don't display a notification for your upcoming birthday in the upper-right side of the home page. Rest assured that we will display a notification to your friends, if you have allowed your birthday to be visible to them.

You can adjust which friends are able to view your birthday from the Privacy Settings page.

You can export your friends' birthdays from Facebook into many other programs such as Apple iCal, Microsoft Outlook, and Google Calendar. To view friends' birthdays, select Events from the left side of your home page and then click "Birthdays" at the bottom of the Events page. Then click "Export Birthdays" at the bottom of that page.
