Dec 7, 2008 9:24 PM - Do our laws not already address violent acts with punitive measures sufficient to fight domestic terrorism? -

The Patriot Act itself is quite enough. Most of this bill contains "anti-terrorist" powers that already exist as legislation in one way or another, so it is redundant. The only thing new in this bill is the "thought crime" and "prevention" aspect. Has anyone seen "Minority Report"? This cannot end well... Feb 26, 2009 2:56 AM - This bill is officially completely dead, right? Are there any other bills out there that could possibly title political domestic dissent as terrorism (thought crime)? What about censorship bills regarding the internet? I'm sorry, I'm kind of new to being actively politically concerned. -

Hopefully you are in a state of shock, that is if you are new to being politically concerned. Bills like this have been passed already, the Bill of Rights are either suspended, or can be arbitrarily suspended at the whim of executive order. |
