By their fruits we shall know them, and so we know him.

In his Cairo speech in June, President Obama said that, “…I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”

He has done that and more in defense of Islam, but where is his defense of Christianity and Judaism? Or is that buried in his remarks to an April press conference in Turkey when he said that America isn’t a Christian or Jewish or Muslim nation?

Obama has instructed the State department to create a new appointment, U.S. Special Representative for Muslim (Ummah) Outreach, who reports directly to the Secretary of State. This was at the urging of the head of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, who, while at the White House, “urged the U.S. to quickly appoint an envoy to the Islamic bloc” -- which prompted BHO to create the “new office that is responsible for outreach with Muslims around the world.”

His sent his #2 woman at the White House, Valerie Jarrett, to speak at the racist hatefest staged over the Fourth of July weekend by the Islamic Society of North America, an un-indicted co-conspirator in a case involving the funding of the Hamas terror group. At the ISNA conference, hate speech and Islamic antisemitism were promoted, and the Obama administration was there. Imam Warith Deen Umar spoke about his books, Jews for Salaam: The Straight Path to Global Peace and Judaiology. Umar, the former head of New York prisons’ Muslim chaplain program, repeatedly described Jewish conspiracies to control the world: “Why do this small number of people,” he asked, “have control of the world?…There’s some people in the world says no Holocaust even happened. Some of their leaders say no Holocaust even happened. Well it did happen. These people were punished. They were punished for a reason because they were serially disobedient to Allah.”

Obama’s Department of Homeland Security named to its official advisory council the head of an Arab American organization whose officials have labeled deadly anti-U.S. jihadists as “heroes” and opposed referring to Hamas as a terrorist organization.

So far, the culmination of this trendis the appointment of Arif Alikhan, former deputy mayor of Los Angeles, as Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

“Congratulations to Mr. Alikhan on this well-deserved appointment,” said Hussam Ayloush, Executive Director of the Los Angeles office of another un-indicted co-conspirator in the same Hamas funding case, the Council on American-Islamic Relations. “Mr. Alikhan’s new position reflects his and the community’s dedication to helping preserve the security of our country. The American Muslim community can be proud of him.” One chief reason for their pride may be that when Alikhan (an observant Sunni Muslim and the son of immigrants from Pakistan) was Los Angeles’s deputy mayor, he played an instrumental role in pressuring the Los Angeles Police Department to scrap a plan simply to count area mosques and determine the nature of their membership. Alikhan opposed this simple anti-terror measure -- and now he is at the DHS.

That’s not all. Obama has, in a stunning act of sponsoring terror, invited the propaganda television station of Hamas, Al-quds TV, to film propaganda here in the United States on the dime of U.S. taxpayer dollars.

Thursday, Obama honored an enemy of Israel, awarding the Medal of Freedom to Mary Robinson. Robinson has served as President of Ireland and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. In 2004, Amnesty International awarded her its Ambassador of Conscience award. But there are, or should be, a few things on her own conscience. According to journalist Richard Baehr, Robinson is “an enemy of Israel to begin, and the host and mastermind of the first Durban conference” -- the conference that made Islamic anti-Semitism official United Nations policy.

Obama has instituted the ‘U.S. Muslim engagement” -- a blueprint for appeasement.

But there is one appointment Obama has failed to make. The Jerusalem Post reported: “The Obama administration has failed to name an envoy for monitoring and combating anti-Semitism around the world as mandated by U.S. law since the previous ambassador was relieved of his duties at the start of the president’s term more than six months ago, officials said Thursday.” Rafael Medoff, director of the Washington D.C.-based David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies, explained: “Foot-dragging on the selection sends a message that anti-Semitism is not of great importance to the United States.”

In another part of his Cairo speech, the president quoted President John Adams’ statement on signing the Treaty of Tripoli in 1796: “I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America's story. The first nation to recognize my country was Morocco. In signing the Treaty of Tripoli in 1796, our second President John Adams wrote, "The United States has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Muslims."

Four years later, America was at war with Algiers for its sponsorship of the Barbary Pirates who were conducting the first modern jihad. The president has conveniently ignored America’s first real engagement with Islam.
