JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Rockets fired by Hizbollah guerrillas into northern Israel from Lebanon killed at least three people and landed in the deepest area yet since the start of an offensive three weeks ago.
Witnesses and police said two rockets landed in open areas near the city of Hadera, about 80 km (50 miles) from the Lebanese border. No casualties were reported, medics said.
"We were on the balcony and heard the siren," a witness who gave his name as Aviram told Israel's Channel 10. "I thought it was a false alarm. What a boom! I shook."
An earlier barrage of rockets fired by the group killed three Israelis, including one in a Druze-Arab village in northern Israel. The deaths raised to 30 the number of civilians killed by rocket fire from Lebanon since the offensive began.
The Hadera strike marked the furthest point such rockets had landed in what has become daily barrages by the group against the Jewish state and frequent Israeli air strikes in Lebanon. More than 200 rockets landed in Israel on Friday, police said.
Hizbollah said it had fired "Khaibar 1" rockets at Hadera in response to recent Israeli attacks. Israel killed at least 40 Lebanese civilians on Friday. The army said it had targeted infrastructure and buildings used by Hizbollah.

I'm concerned that Hezbollah may have even longer-range missles and possibly nuclear/chemical weapons. Iran and Syria seem completely calm and confident in this situation; perhaps they think a big victory is on the way?
It seems no matter what Israel does they are cast as the evil party in this war. Hezbollah has crafted an almost perfect war strategy. They are fully integrated and hidden within the population of Lebanon, basically transforming the entire nation into a terrorist zone. Israel must stop the missles and rockets, but must also kill Hezbollah mixed with civilians to accomplish this.

The only way Israel would be able to destroy Hizbollah would be to commit genocide against the south Lebanese Shiites, which is not a solution acceptable to anyone. I think we're up against the laws of war drawn up post WWII which western powers are supposed to follow although nobody else does - Hizbollah is doing nothing but target civilians with its katyushas: their only regret about firing them is that they are not killing enough innocents (in the non-Islamic sense of the word).Israel, on the other hand, has to abide by rules that appear to have been drawn up for a war in Utopia.
