NARATHIWAT, Thailand -- Suspected Islamic militants have shot dead three Muslims in separate attacks in Thailand's troubled south this weekend, local police said Sunday.
A Muslim army sergeant, 33, and his wife were shot on Saturday evening by three gunmen hidden at the roadside as they travelled home by motorcycle in Narathiwat province.
The man died instantly while his wife died later in hospital, police said.
On Sunday, a Muslim defence volunteer was killed and a local district chief injured when a bomb was detonated near a mosque in Yala province.
Defence volunteers are trained and armed by the state to protect civilians against insurgents....

As much as Infidels suffer at the hands of Muslims, it is always Muslims who form the greatest number of the victims of Islam.
The entire idea that if only Infidels embrace Islam they will be safe from the depredations of Muslims could not be more false.
This is a "religion" which eats its own.

These Muslims were shot by the jihadist mobsters, the self-appointed sharia enforcers, because they were working for the Infidel authorities; that is, they were perceived as being collaborators with the kafir and thus disloyal to the Ummah or Muslim Mob.

The AFP weaselwords really get on my works. I amuse myself by going through articles like this, mentally translating the terms into something a bit more accurate.
'Restive Thai south'. Translation: 'Jihad-wracked Thai south'.
'Thailand's *troubled* south'. Translation - 'Thailand's jihad-wracked mostly-Muslim south'.
'Militants' , 'gunmen', 'insurgents'. Suggested truthful alternative terms - 'Jihadists', or perhaps 'jihadist sharia-enforcers' or 'sharia-pushers'.

You forgot to add 'volatile'.
That's the other favourite of Reuters, AP, and AFP, primly alluding to the sorts of places - Chechnya, for example, or Swat, or the hellpits of Afghanistan or the worst jihadist hangouts in Mesopotamia - where all sorts of things are liable unexpectedly to fly up in the air or sideways as the result of the application of detonators to high explosive, via a martyr-murder jihadist, or a carefully placed roadside bomb.
