Working as a US marshal, I sent hundreds if not thousands of felons to prison. Many of them came from homes that absolutely needed some attention and assistance. Looking back, I can see that in many instances the intervention of a CASA volunteer would have freed up a bunk at the local prison.—Volunteer Ronald Evans
