Two journalists killed reporting on rainstorm in US
USA US television news anchor and a camera operator were killed when a tree in North Carolina fell on their vehicle as they were covering the effects of a rainstorm in Polk County, officials said.

Dry and warm this evening with hazy sunshine, scattered cloud and a light breeze. There could be a few isolated showers across the north of the province.

Temperatures will fall back a couple of degrees on Tuesday, ranging between 16 and 19 degrees generally, but up to 20 or 21 degrees in southern coastal areas. Rest of week: Current indications suggest that it will be changeable and unsettled, as an Atlantic weather regime becomes established,. There will be some rain at times, alternating with dry spells, but overall rainfall totals are expected to be relatively small, especially in the south and east. Cooler than recently also, with daytime temperatures in the mid to high teens.
Heavy thundery downpours on Friday will lead to high intensity rainfall in a short period of time. Localised spot flooding possible. The Western half of the country and the Midlands most at risk at present.
