Gerry Connolly's Door? Surprisingly NOT Open

I received this in the mail this past Saturday:

So when I read a report from Dan Riehl that ol' Gerry has slammed the door in his constituents' faces yet again, I laughed.

You see, this "open door" policy of Gerry's has been in place since almost day one, according to the Congressfrog's website—And from the looks of things since then, it seems to be a pretty loose policy.

Far be it from me to point out that this is perhaps one of the most desperate "Gimme a Job" faces I've ever seen.

Not 'Shopped: Reuters Nixes Evil Zionist Batons

Jumping at shadows?

It seems that somewhere, somebody had the audacity to charge Reuters with photoshopping the above photograph. Reuters has officially responded with the all-clear, and doesn't seem to grasp exactly what the complaint is about:

The picture was not altered. Here is a blown up section of the portion you mentioned.

Moreover, I can’t imagine why a news organization would try to change a picture to make it LESS dramatic: GBU Editor

I don't think you need to be reminded, but it was Reuters who got in trouble many moons ago for trying to pass off a MORE dramatic picture as news. (That incident is also what led to the birth of Snapped Shot, but I digress...)

To clarify for the humble GBU Editor, the accusation that is being levied against Reuters is that you are whitewashing the Evil Zionist Oppressors' crimes by photoshopping out their brutal police batons. That you're helping to improve Israel's image in the world.

A charge that if understood in context, would be the greatest comedy act in the history of all time.

Good job on debunking the myth, Reuters. Hopefully, your next act will be to actually balance your stories out for once.

Ooo, Scary: Iran Launches Facebook Intifada!

"Is interwebz over here?"

Speaking as someone who has a vested interest in electronic Iran, I can't wait to see how this whole thing shakes out. Until then, I'm just quaaaaaking in my boots, maaan.

Via Arutz Sheva:

(IsraelNN.com) Iran has called for the launching of a “media intifada” against Israel, and the first results are apparently visible online, in the form of a Hamas Facebook group. Other groups and sites formed as part of the 'intifada' may have been removed or hacked.

According to the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center's latest briefing, a conference titled National and Islamic Solidarity for the Future of Palestine was held in Tehran on February 28. It was headed by Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who gave a typically belligerent anti-Israeli speech.

The conference's participants were a particularly nasty group of terrorists with a decades-old record of murdering civilians: Khaled Mashaal, the chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau; Ramadan Shalah, the secretary-general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group; and Ahmed Jibril, of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Who Needs Democracy When You Have Oligarchy

From Wiki we find:

An oligarchy (Greek Ὀλιγαρχία, Oligarkhía) (oligocracy) is a form of government in which power effectively rests with a small elite segment of society distinguished by royalty, wealth, family ties, military might, or religious hegemony. The word oligarchy is from the Greek words for "few/one" (ὀλίγος olígos) and "rule" (ἀρχή arkhē). Such states are often controlled by politically powerful families whose children are heavily conditioned and mentored to be heirs of the power of the oligarchy.
Oligarchies have been tyrannical throughout history, being completely reliant on public servitude to exist. Although Aristotle pioneered the use of the term as a synonym for rule by the rich, for which the exact term is plutocracy, oligarchy is not always a rule by wealth, as oligarchs can simply be a privileged group

It would seem, that this most open and transparent and honest administration EVAH, is resorting to kickbacks, kickbacksbribery, more kickbacks, and now to downright illegal behavior.  At least, behavior typified by Oligarch governments.

House may try to pass Senate health-care bill without voting on it
By Lori Montgomery and Paul Kane

After laying the groundwork for a decisive vote this week on the Senate's health-care bill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested Monday that she might attempt to pass the measure without having members vote on it.

Instead, Pelosi (D-Calif.) would rely on a procedural sleight of hand: The House would vote on a more popular package of fixes to the Senate bill; under the House rule for that vote, passage would signify that lawmakers "deem" the health-care bill to be passed.

The tactic -- known as a "self-executing rule" or a "deem and pass" -- has been commonly used, although never to pass legislation...

In other words, if a member votes yes on another bill that carries certain aspects similar to what is in the ObamaCare bill, then it is "deemed" that they agree to the whole of the ObamaCare bill.

Tell me this isn't chicanery in the least.  Tell me this isn't illegal at the worst.

And, Obama's little on-the-road stories just keep falling apart.

Natoma Canfield, the cancer-stricken woman who has become a centerpiece of President Obama's push for health care reform, will not lose her home over her medical bills and will probably qualify for financial aid, a top official at the Cleveland medical center treating her told FoxNews.com.
"She may be eligible for state Medicaid ... and/or she will be eligible for charity (care) of some form or type. ... In my personal opinion, she will be eligible for something," he said, adding that Canfield should not be worried about losing her home.
Nothing like hyping up a false story to sell your unconstitutional and illegal plans to take over the nation another industry at a time.
[Update:] Pelosi is not done yet.  She will have her dreams fulfilled.  People, its her or us.  Make your stand now.
If you have any doubt that the Democratic leadership of the House views passing the current health care reform bill as the beginning, not the end, of the process of creating a national government health care system, just note what Speaker Nancy Pelosi told a group of bloggers on Monday.

"My biggest fight has been between those who wanted to do something incremental and those who wanted to do something comprehensive," Pelosi said, according to an account by Washington Post reform advocate Ezra Klein. "We won that fight, and once we kick through this door, there'll be more legislation to follow."

But since the current bill is unpopular, and Pelosi at the moment does not have enough Democratic, much less Republican, votes to pass it, the door she will be kicking through is the back door.
And what is worse, is her total flouting of the legal legislative process.  But then, that has never stopped the Dems before.
In a particularly Alice-in-Wonderland moment, Pelosi argued that the debate over health care reform can begin after the bill is passed. "Pelosi said passing the bill would allow Dems to undertake a 'debate' with Republicans over 'what is the balanced role that government should have,'"

An Igloo Named Gore: (now with video)

with part 2 here and part three here.

This climate scandal is falling faster than a F-16 screaming towards the earth.

An Igloo Named Gore

Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) has apparently thrown down the gauntlet on the Senate floor yesterday against the globaloney warming cult—And he couldn't have possibly selected a more humorous illustration:

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) attacked former Vice President Al Gore on the Senate floor Monday, calling climate change “the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people” and claiming that Gore is now “running for cover.”

The “hoax” line is an Inhofe standby, but he raised the level of attack on Monday.

In front of the backdrop of a blown up Weekly Standard cover featuring Gore, Inhofe railed on the former vice president.

"After weeks of the global warming scandal, the world’s first climate billionaire is running for cover. Yes, I’m talking about Al Gore," Inhofe charged. "He’s under siege these days. The credibility of the IPCC is eroding. The EPA’s endangerment finding is collapsing. And belief that global warming is leading to catastrophe is evaporating. Gore seems to be drowning in a sea of his own global warming illusions nevertheless. He’s desperately trying to keep global warming alarmism alive today."

Inhofe also floated a political conspiracy theory focused on Gore.He cited a secret "high-level meeting with all [Gore's] global alarmists," called a recent Gore op-ed in the New York Times a "sure-fire sign of desperation" and compared Gore to an ostrich.
