The percentage of registered Sudanese voters has exceeded 80% according to the National Election Commission (NEC). A quarter of those registered come from Southern Sudan, 54% from 8 states, and 15.5% from Darfur. Out of more than a hundred thousand registered Sudanese voters abroad, two thirds were in Saudi Arabia.
The final figures released by the Operations Room of the NEC show that the total number of names in the electoral register is 15,778,154, out of 19,500,000 eligible voters in Sudan and abroad. The registration percentage was 81%, exceeding the 60% international average of voter registration success.

The number of registered voters within Sudan is 15,675,512, or 99.3% of total registered voters. The number of voters registered in the 16 overseas registration centers is 102,642, or 0.7%.
The state of Khartoum came first with regard to the number of registered voters, with 1,932,782, followed by Al-Gezira with 1,543,340, then Darfur with 1,318,858. Central Equatoria came first among Southern states with 532,031 registered voters. Western Bahr El-Ghazal had the lowest number of registered voters: 210,239. Western Equatoria has slightly more, 218,256. Among the northern states, Northern State came last with 269,538.
8 states contributed 54% of all registered voters. Khartoum, Al-Gezira, South Darfur, North Kordofan, Kassala, North Darfur, Red Sea, and South Kordofan have 8,569,188 registered voters, or 54.3% of the electoral register.
25% of registrations were made in Southern Sudan according to the NEC
The number of registered voters in the ten Southern states is 3,972,630 voters, or 25.2% of the electoral register. The voters registered in the three states of Darfur are 2,429,695, 15.5% of the register.
The number of Sudanese registered in the 16 centers outside Sudan is 102,642 voters. Two thirds (67,754) of them reside in Saudi Arabia. The United Arab Emirates came second, with 8,484 voters, then Qatar with 6,777, and Egypt with 5,377. The centers with the lowest number of registrations were, in ascending order, Canada with 128, Southern Africa with 142 and Uganda with 174.
