The Insights API are methods by which Facebook Platform developers can access the underlying data that is presented on the Insights Dashboard. Developers can access the data using the Facebook Query Language (FQL) or through Facebook's Graph API. For more information on these methods, please see the Facebook Developer website.

The Insights Dashboard provides only a selection of data recorded for your Page or Platform application or website. A full list of metrics is available on the Insights FQL table or through the Open Graph API.

Applications using the Facebook Platform can access Insights data using FQL and the Graph API. Page owners and Facebook Platform developers must grant permission to allow third-party analytics software to access Insights data associated with your account. This is done using the read_insights extended permission that must be approved by the Page owner or Platform developer.
