The man whose singular qualification was as a uniter turns out to be singularly unequipped to operate in a polarised environment.

A sad truth of Barack Obama’s presidency is that he does not seem to like discussing race in America.

Barack Obama took time out from his holiday to address the nation on two complex and violent crises – one in Iraq, one in Ferguson, in the suburbs of St Louis, Missouri, a town has looked much like an occupied territory since a white cop shot a young black man dead at lunchtime last Saturday.

"A sad truth of Barack Obama’s presidency is that he does not seem to like discussing race in America."

He does not, because regardless of what he says the right wing nuts take issue with his opinion; even when he is agreeing with them.

Politics in the USA are broken, almost at every level of government.

I think most Americans thought their society had evolved enough to have a black President but sadly it is just not true.

Begs the question what happens when they get their first female Pres.?

You may not have liked Julia (I certainly did not, and no I did not vote for the ass-hat that is in) but she was treated poorly all around because she is female.

We too have a long way to go as a society as well........

Children are so precious and innocent, they turn out to be the product of  'us' the adults of this world

I am a First Nation Traditional Owner of Australia, I love my country and I uphold the Laws of the Land as do all my people
The past is something that will be dealt with between the Governments' The first Nation Peoples ( Traditional Owners ) and all Australians

My People are a peaceable people and only desire to hold Land and reap the benefits of who they are as a race of people and yet they are Australian like any other race here

I have empathy for races that flee their own country and put their lives and their children s lives at risk to come to a country that's free, and yet their heart and soul are with the country they fled, ( in which is understandable )

It is time Australia have a code of ethics that state peoples alliance to this country first and foremost under Law's of the Land of Australia

We must all learn values that identify us as Australians
If those values are of Christian values then so be it.
The First Nation People had Laws before colonization the old law's practiced by my people conflicted with the democratic and human rights of the people free Will.
Thank God those Laws are not recognized under the Laws of the Land today other wise my mother would have been married off to some old codger sharing the marriage along with a half a dozen other wives, and she would have been 12 or 13 yrs of age. And if she had of run off with any other man she would have been put to death, killed by the old codger who claimed her

We voted in a Government to do the right thing by the people of Australia and we need to Pray for those in Leadership and Parliament to get on with the job at hand

God Bless Australia and keep this country in his Grace and Mercy

Life has apparently been tough for Sydney fashion designer Jodhi Meares since she crashed her luxury four-wheel-drive into three parked cars while drink-driving in Bellevue Hill, with the 43-year-old former model's solicitor telling court that his client had become isolated in her eastern suburbs apartment since the crash because she was ''terrified of the media''.

All western governments are full of shit and using all manner of propaganda right now. Don't believe a word they or the media tells you. Do some research... Take your news from multiple outlets and form your own opinion.
