Cristina (Tina) Dobleman is the Assistant Vice President for the Office of Risk Management reporting to the Vice President for Business Affairs and Chief Financial Officer. Tina leads the risk management function and maintains oversight administration of insurance programs for the University. These programs consist of the following primary components: workers’ compensation, liability and property exposures.
Tina began her career with Stanford University in 2004 as the Director of Risk Management and was promoted to the Assistant Vice President in 2009. Tina provides risk management expertise to a host of diverse research projects, teaching programs and initiatives throughout the world. Supporting teaching and research provides challenges across a wide array of disciplines: education, human health, real estate, emergency planning, and international affairs.
Prior to joining Stanford Tina served as the Director, Risk Management for Levi Strauss & Co. who manufactures and markets casual apparel throughout the world. One of the largest branded apparel companies in the world, it has operations in more than 110 countries globally.
Tina is currently a director of the Workers Compensation Research Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts which provides leading research on workers’ compensation systems and related public policy issues. She is also a director for The Stanford University Medical Indemnity & Trust Insurance Company, a captive insurance company providing general and professional liability insurance to Stanford University Hospitals and Clinics, and its School of Medicine.
Tina obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas in Business Administration and a degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, Arizona. She is also a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
