Are you almost ready to get your book out there? Whether your work is fiction or nonfiction, this workshop will take you step by step through the “submit or self-publish” decision process. With all the options now available, which route is most likely to bring you personal satisfaction and success? We’ll discuss how, as the Roman philosopher Seneca pointed out, no wind is a good wind unless you know which harbor you seek. If you decide to take the traditional route, what strategies might maximize your chance of leapfrogging the slush pile? Which agents and publishers should you target, and how do you find them? If you are considering self-publishing, what are the land mines to avoid, and what are the rewards of this exploding sector of the industry? This workshop includes group discussion and exercises, and question-and-answer time to give you an insider’s peek at the publishing industry. Come with your questions, and leave with the tools to make the publishing decision that’s right for you.
Due to its short format, this workshop may not be taken for Credit or a Letter Grade.
