Enrique Allen
Lecturer
Enrique Allen is the Co-director of the Designer Fund where he invests in designers creating businesses with meaningful impact. Designer Fund invests between $100K – $1MM in startups co-founded by designers, produces a professional development program for designers called Bridge and publishes resources like Designer Founders, a book series that interviews designers about the path they took to create companies.
Previously Enrique has was a designer at venture capital funds including 500 Startups, Facebook’s fbFund and Venrock, where he helped invest in companies like Wildfire (acquired by Google) and Behance (acquired by Adobe).
Enrique has been teaching at the Stanford dschool since 2009 and is currently a co-instructor of dmedia.stanford.edu. He’s also an alum of dschool courses like Entrepreneurial Design for Extreme Affordability where we worked with Proximity in Myanmar and the White Mountain Apache Tribe.
After playing on Stanford’s Division 1 team, Enrique still loves playing soccer. In his free time, he creates public art with the Mural Music & Arts Project, cooks vegetarian recipes, hikes and meditates.
