Stacey Gray
Program Manager, Executive Education
Known to her family as the “Queen of What-if?” since childhood, Stacey has spent most of her life asking questions about people and ideas. She has donned many human-centered hats before landing at the d.school formally in fall 2011.
After graduating from U.C. Davis, Stacey went to Los Angeles for a weekend visit and didn’t leave until five years later. She began her career as an after-school program mentor for a Boys and Girls Club, and decided to pursue youth services with more intention by studying Educational Psychology and Counseling while working as school-based counselor in Los Angeles. A cross-country adventure presented itself, and Stacey took a position in Admissions in Boston, doing her best to bring heart to the application process and focusing on students who did not fit the mold. Her degrees in Communication and Counseling have been put to good use in many student and person facing roles over the years, largely in education-focused environments.
Whether she is working through complex problems, unearthing new challenges and ideas with colleagues, venturing into emotional territory as a counselor confidante, or just digging in the dirt of her garden in Half Moon Bay, Stacey is always ready to get her hands dirty.
Stacey spends most of her time at the d.school with the Exec Ed team creating and delivering immersive and inspiring programs for professionals from diverse companies and walks of life — wrangling faculty and coaches, connecting with professionals who are doing exciting work, and creating a rigorous d.school experience for all who attend. She dabbles in other projects and participates in classes and workshops as well.
Stacey loves coffee and Sour Patch Kids (no, not together) and enjoys spending time near the coast with her close-knit clan of family and friends.
