Companies like Airbnb, Dropbox, and even Caterpillar are examples of how new thinking around resources and systems can create tremendous human and economic value. Merging real-world business examples with design thinking, d.loops introduces the concept of the Circular Economy, which uses systems thinking to decouple economic growth from resource limitations.

Offered jointly with the Product Realization Lab, this fast-paced course will run students through a series of discussions and hands-on workshops. We’ll take products, services, and systems apart and see what their insides tell us. By the end of the five meetings, participants will walk away with a deeper understanding of how to evaluate design decisions and a full toolbox of approaches towards systems and sustainability.

This advanced class is appropriate for students experienced with an in-depth design process. Class will meet in both the d.school and PRL.
