Over a 100 people demonstrated their passion for working on energy issues by converging by attending the Summer Energy Happy Hour jointly hosted by BERC, SEC, and YPE

Julia Nesheiwat, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Implementation in the Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR), addressed Stanford students and during a lunchtime talk and provided insights into the role and mission of the ENR, and also clarify students’ concerns regarding global energy consumption, and U.S. attempts to shape international energy programs.

The latest installment of our Energy 360 panel discussion series brought together panelists from three of the top energy investment firms in the country. Topics ranged from international investment to strategies for financing a successful clean-tech venture.

At the first Energy 360 of the year, three exciting panelists discussed the implications of safety concerns on nuclear policy and research. The event was sponsored by Rockport Capital and hosted by the Stanford Energy Club.

Stanford Energy Club and the Steyer-Taylor Center hosted a fireside chat with Cisco Devries. Mr. Devries pioneered the concept of Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program for financing clean energy installation for property owners and is CEO of Renewable Funding.

The Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission visited Stanford to address students from Law, Business, and Engineering to offer an overview of how our national energy grid operates. The event was sponsored by the GSB Energy Club and organized by the Steyer-Taylor Center.

Mary Nichols, Chairman of the California Air Resources Board addressed students during a lunchtime talk. The event was a collaboration between the Steyer-Taylor Center and the Stanford Energy Club with support from the Graduate Student Council.
