Personal bio
Eduardo Miranda received a Civil Engineer degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and his MSc and PhD degrees in Structural Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. After a two year postdoc at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, he worked for 6 years at the National Center for Disaster Prevention and taught at the graduate school of Engineering at UNAM. He joined the Stanford faculty in the year 2000 where he is an Associate Professor. He does research in various aspects of Earthquake Engineering but in recent years a primary focus on his research has been on Performance-Based Earthquake Engineering.
