About Us

The mission of the Division of Pediatrics Infectious Diseases is provide care to children with suspected or known infections, to minimize the risk of serious pediatric infections, to serve as a resource, to provide aid to the community and to treat infectious complications effectively when they occur. In addition we strive to answer pertinent clinical and pathogen related questions through our research endeavors.

Patient Care

Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford (Hospital 1) and Stanford University Hospital (Hospital 2) are physically contiguous. The vast majority of patient care occurs at Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. However, some of the pediatric infectious diseases support services are based at Stanford University Hospital. More »

Ann M. Arvin, MD.
Dr. Arvin is the Lucile Salter Packard Professor of Pediatrics and Professor of Microbiology & Immunology and serves as the Vice Provost and Dean of Research for Stanford University. She served as Chief of the Infectious Diseases Division from 1984-2006. She was Associate Dean of Research at Stanford from 2001-2006. More »
