By now, those of you who enjoy traditional jazz may know that the Stanford Libraries is the fount of streaming Jim Cullum’s Riverwalk Jazz programs on the web, round the clock and round the world. Get behind-the-scenes information as project manager Hannah Frost reveals some of the inner workings that led to the launch of dual continuous streams of Riverwalk Jazz.

Roland Greene elected second VP of
Modern Language Association
Roland Greene, professor of English and of comparative literature, has been elected second vice president of the Modern Language Association (MLA), a position that will lead him to the presidency in two years. Greene is the author of Five Words: Critical Semantics in the Age of Shakespeare and Cervantes, which will appear from the University of Chicago Press in March. He also is the editor-in-chief of the fourth edition of the Princeton Encyclopedia of Poetry and Poetics (2012). Greene is the Mark Pigott O.B.E. Professor in the School of Humanities and Sciences.

Antiquarian Book Fair
The 46th California International Antiquarian Book Fair, at which over 200 American and international dealers will offer a wide range of rare and antiquarian materials, will take place on February 15-17 at the Concourse Exhibition Center in San Francisco. The fair will also host public seminars and lectures, as well as a major exhibit of rare Asian books, manuscripts and artifacts from the collections of the C. V. Starr Asian Library at the University of California at Berkeley.

Codex 2013
The Codex 2013 International Book Fair, at which over 175 of the world’s most distinguished book artists and artisans, private presses, and fine arts publishers will be exhibiting their art and craft, will take place on February 10-13 at the beautiful waterfront Craneway Pavilion in Richmond. The Stanford Libraries is one of the leading institutional supporters of the Codex Foundation.

Exhibits & Events
Scripting the Sacred, an exhibition in Green Library of Western European manuscripts and fragments, showcases the medieval experience of reading. Janet Lewis's The Wife of Martin Guerre will be the focus of the second “Another Look” book club event on February 20. The Stanford Historical Society and Stanford Continuing Studies are co-sponsoring "Stanford Women in Space" on February 11. Cabinet of Wonders: A Contemporary Kunstkammer is on display at the Art & Architecture Library.
