Announcing Additional Transaction Validation for iJournals

As of March 17, 2014, the iJournals system will automatically perform a final journal validation after the last approval and just prior to posting, to ensure that PTA attributes have not changed since journal creation.

If PTA-related attributes have changed since creation, rendering the journal invalid (for example, if the award status was changed to "closed"), the system will immediately reject the journal and send notification to the originator, copying applicable approvers and FYI recipients. The originator can then update the journal and resubmit it for posting.

This immediate visibility into an invalid journal allows timely corrective action for originators.
