STANFORD, Calif. – Two Stanford women’s rowers were selected to the 2015 Pocock All-America team.

Junior Katie Toothman was announced as a first team All-America and junior Ellie Parker made the second team. It is the first honor for both individuals.

The duo were both in the varsity eight for the duration of the season, placing sixth at the NCAA Championships and second at the Pac-12 Championships.

Toothman, a human biology major, was part of five victories in her third season seeing time in the varsity eight. One of the strongest Cardinal rowers, she provided a big push down the race course while also being a very effective Team Leader off the water.

Parker, a mechanical engineering major, went from never rowing before three years ago and walking on to the team as a freshman to All-America status is three seasons. Her work ethic is living proof with the results of her season, stroking the varsity eight for much of the year and racking up five wins.

Stanford has had multiple All-Americas every year since the awards started in 2007. This gives them 26 total All-Americas in nine years.
