Sweep From the Road

PULLMAN, Wash. - No. 19 Stanford completed a sweep of its Pacific Northwest road trip, taking down No. 57 Washington State 5-2 on Saturday afternoon.

The Cardinal (12-5, 7-1 Pac-12), which has won five of its last six, will try to avenge its only loss of that stretch next Saturday when No. 1 Cal visits The Farm.

Melissa Lord contributed a 6-2, 6-0 triumph on court six, extending the Cardinal's lead to 2-0.

Caroline Lampl's 6-3, 6-1 victory at the No. 4 spot put Stanford on the verge of clinching the match before Krista Hardebeck's 6-2, 6-3 win – her 14th in a row overall – at the No. 3 position made it official.

Washington State (17-8, 2-7 Pac-12) earned its two points with victories from Donika Bashota and Aneta Miksovska on courts two and five, respectively.

Stanford's regular season finale is set for Saturday, April 16, against California at 12 p.m. The Cardinal dropped a 4-3 decision to the Golden Bears last weekend in what was considered a nonconference match.
