TEMPE, Ariz. – Seven Stanford players combined for 11 hits but the Cardinal could not keep pace with Arizona State's offense, dropping the series finale Sunday, 10-4.

Kayla Bonstrom hit her fifth home run of the season and moved into a tie for fifth-place all-time in Stanford history with 177 RBIs. She finished the game 3-for-4 and just a triple shy of the cycle.

Kaitlin Schaberg and Haley Snyder also registered multi-hit games and combined for three RBIs on the day.

Snyder (7-13) got the start in the circle and allowed eight runs on 11 hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. She was relieved by Carolyn Lee who did well to limit the Sun Devils to two runs on two hits and two walks with a strikeout in 2.1 innings.

Highlights from Stanford's game at Arizona State.

Arizona State took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. The Sun Devils rattled off three consecutive singles to load the bases, then drew a walk and hit a sacrifice fly to bring in two runs. Snyder did well to limit the damage, getting three consecutive fly balls after the walk to get out of the inning.

The Sun Devils added another run in the bottom of the third inning on its second sacrifice fly of the game to extend its lead to 3-0.

Stanford rallied for a run in the top of the fourth inning. Bonstrom led off the inning with a single up the middle and moved to second on a single by Schaberg. Snyder brought Bonstrom home on a bloop single to left field to cut the Sun Devils' lead to 3-1.

The Cardinal ran into trouble in the bottom of the fourth inning as Arizona State erupted for five runs on four hits, fueled by a two-run single and a three-run home run.

Stanford continued to battle and responded with three runs in the top of the fifth inning, sparked by a solo home run by Bonstrom. It is Bonstrom's third home run in the past four games.

The Cardinal rattled off four singles in the inning, including RBI-base knocks by Schaberg and Snyder to cut Arizona State's lead to 8-4.

The Sun Devils extended its lead in the fifth and sixth innings, beginning with a solo home run by Margaret Stahm in the fifth. Arizona State rallied for a run in the sixth to take a 10-4 advantage.

Bonstrom led off the top of the seventh inning with a double to right-center field but Stanford could not generate the runs needed to catch Arizona State.

The Cardinal returns home next weekend for a three-game series against Washington beginning Thursday at 5 p.m. (PT). Saturday's game will be Senior Day and the Cardinal's three seniors will be honored.
