The Stanford Program in International and Comparative Law incorporates a wide variety of academic centers that bridge the gap between theory and practice by giving students the opportunity to participate in research, learn from experts beyond the academic realm, and build skills that will serve them in their careers.

"Having lived, worked, and studied abroad for a number of years, it was important for me to find a law school with a vibrant international law program. At Stanford, I have been able to mix academic studies with real-life opportunities including an internship at the International Criminal Court and writing a legal textbook for Afghan law students through the Afghanistan Legal Education Project. The interdisciplinary focus of SLS has facilitated my involvement with centers, institutes, and departments across campus, from pursuing research interests as a graduate fellow at the Stanford Center for International Conflict and Negotiation to taking a seminar with Dr. Condoleezza Rice.
