Mission & Goals

We are very passionate about our work here at the eating disorders clinic. Eating disorders have the potential to significantly impact an individual’s quality of life and may cause severe and life-threatening medical complications. In fact, eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of all psychological disorders. Early detection followed by effective treatment is of utmost importance in preventing the debilitating and dangerous course of illness that eating disorders often follow.

Our commitment to understanding and evaluating treatments through state-of-the-art research is evidenced by a number of important goals. We work to evaluate both therapies and therapeutic outcomes as well as basic science at the level of brain functioning and imaging.
