Home Improvements

All home improvement projects for campus homes must be reviewed and approved by Faculty Staff Housing prior to the commencement of work. The process is explained in the following information and documents.

Special alert for projects in houses 50 years old or older
Prior to the approval of any work on the exterior of a building that is 50 years old or older, Laura Jones at Stanford Heritage Services (in LBRE) conducts a preliminary review of the property's historical value for consistancy with County policies. Demolition, additions and alterations to street-facing facades will trigger additional review, and potentially project changes, if your home is determined to have historic significance. Please provide sufficient time for this historical review in your project application. For more information, please see Residential Subdivision Building Regulations.
