Bulletin: Ben Moreno Named Chief Procurement Officer (Posted September 10, 2013)

Susan Calandra, Senior Associate Vice President for Finance, has announced that Ben Moreno has been appointed to the position of Chief Procurement Officer (CPO).

Ben held the position of interim CPO for eight months, during which time he "injected new life into the Procure to Pay transformation efforts," Susan wrote.

Ben brings over 20 years of P2P experience across various industries, including technology, publishing, government, military, and financial services. Ben joined Stanford in 2011 as Director of Purchasing Services and in this role defined and implemented Zip Purchasing, delivering dramatic efficiencies and improved requisition-to-purchase order placement service levels. As interim CPO, Ben has been the key architect of the P2P Transformation Plan, which is one of the top five Business Affairs and FMS initiatives for FY14.

"I am confident that by supporting Ben and his vision and efforts, we will successfully achieve our goal of creating highly effective and efficient Purchasing and Payment operations for the University community," Susan wrote.
