Stanford University provides a variety of subsidized on-campus housing options for law students. Students may choose from furnished single dormitory rooms to four-bedroom apartments equipped with full kitchens. Built specifically for Stanford Law students and other graduate students from around campus, The Munger Graduate Residence intensifies the interdisciplinary learning experience. We consider it the best student housing in the country.

On-Campus Housing Options:
For Single Students
Housing is guaranteed to all new matriculated students who apply for housing by the early May deadline and are willing to live in any graduate residence. For single students, University accommodations are available at:
Stanford University added much needed graduate student housing with completion of the first phase of construction of this high-end apartment complex, the Munger Graduate Residence. Made possible with a generous gift from Charles and Nancy Munger (BA ´45), the Residence will be a model for interdisciplinary living and learning for law and graduate students from across Stanford University.

Located adjacent to Stanford Law School, the Munger Residence is at the heart of the university. The furnished apartments offer fully equipped kitchens, contemporary furniture, spacious living areas, wireless Internet, and comfortable bedrooms.
This apartment complex houses single students, couples, and students with children in studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments. All students with partners or spouses and/or children who live on campus are assigned to Escondido Village.
This graduate apartment complex consisting of 112 single-student two-bedroom apartments. Each furnished apartment is about 575 square feet and has its own bathroom, living-dining room, kitchen, and storage closet.
This is a graduate apartment complex that houses 779 single students in two-and four-bedroom apartments. The two-bedroom apartments vary a bit in shape and size, but the average is about 575 square feet where as the four-bedroom apartments are about 1040 square feet and have two bathrooms.
This graduate residential complex located just a few blocks from the Stanford Business School. The Center houses more than 200 students, primarily first-year MBAs, but law school students are welcomed to apply for housing in the center. Each suite is 700 square feet with a private living area, bath, and a full kitchen shared with one other resident.
For Students With Children and Couples Without Children
Located adjacent to Stanford Law School, the Munger Residence is at the heart of the university. The furnished apartments offer fully equipped kitchens, contemporary furniture, spacious living areas, wireless Internet, and comfortable bedrooms. One-bedroom apartments are available for married students and students with same-sex or opposite-sex domestic partners.
Located about a mile away from the law school, Escondido Village is an apartment complex that houses couples and students with children. Nearly all couples live in one bedroom apartments but there are eight two-bedroom loft apartments available. Students with children live in one, two, and three apartments. Most family apartments/townhouses are arranged around grassy, fenced courtyards with play equipment and sand pools. Housing is available for married students, students with same-sex or opposite-sex domestic partners, and single parents.
Off-Campus Housing
Stanford is located in Santa Clara County and immediately to the north is San Mateo County. There are numerous cities surrounding Stanford, going all the way north to San Francisco and all the way south to San Jose. The following communities located within 10 miles of campus:

All incoming students and returning students are eligible to access the Community Housing online listings which include rental listings of available rooms, places to share, apartments, cottages, houses, condominiums, and temporary rentals in the communities surrounding Stanford. Several local newspapers such as The Stanford Daily, The Palo Alto Weekly, Stanford Report, and San Jose Mercury News run housing advertisements.
