Financial Aid
We are committed to providing financial assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to pursue a Stanford legal education. Aid, based on demonstrated financial need, is provided through a combination of tuition fellowships, government loans, and private loans. Nearly 80 percent of students receive aid, with the average fellowship portion per student reaching nearly $20,000 annually. Students who choose public service careers may receive annual fellowships, funding for summer work, and generous loan repayment options.
The Office of Financial Aid (room 107 of the Administration building) assists students with financing their law school education through a combination of tuition fellowships, federal loans, and private loans appropriate to the circumstances of each student. Each year, the Office of Financial Aid publishes a guide outlining financial policies and procedures. Students may also obtain information about outside scholarships from the Office of Financial Aid.
