Welcome, Bing Honors College Faculty and Staff. Below you will find important dates this winter and spring and program dates to add to your calendar.

Enrollment and Registration Dates

Note:  Only students who have been approved through participating honors departments or programs are allowed to enroll in Bing Honors College.

April 15: Hume Center sends department administrators and faculty leaders information about student recruitment/invitations and the registration process.

April 16 - May 22: Student registration: Departments invite “approved” students to register at bhc.stanford.edu

April 22, noon: Bing Honors College/ Department Administrators Lunch Meeting, Sweet Hall 020

May 8, noon: Bing Honors College/ Faculty Leaders Lunch Meeting, Hume 211

May 15: Hume Center sends departments a list of students who have completed registration process; departments follow-up with students who have not registered before May 22nd deadline.

May 18 – May 21: Departments follow up with students who have not registered.

May 22:  Student registration closes at 5:00 p.m.

May 27: Hume Center sends departments a final list of students who have confirmed/registered by deadline.

June 4: Departments confirm roster of registered students with Hume Center.

June 11: Withdrawal deadline: Students withdrawing from this program after this date will be charged a withdrawal fee of $300 on their University bill.

Students withdrawing from this program after June 11 will be charged a withdrawal fee of $300 on their University bill. Exceptions due to illness require a doctor’s letter in order to waive the withdrawal fee. In other circumstances students must work with JULIA BLEAKNEY, DIRECTOR OF THE hUME CENTER, to discuss having the fee reduced or waived.

Mark Your Calendar

September 2

Noon-5pm: Participating residential and day students arrive on campus.

5:40-6pm: Faculty Check-in (Faculty Club Courtyard)

6-7:30pm: Opening Dinner (Faculty Club Main Dining Room) All Residential and Day Students are encouraged to attend.

9pm: Residential Dorm Meeting (Lounge)

September 3: Bing Honors College begins

September 3, 7pm: "How I Research" Dessert Reception, Lounge (All Residential and Day Students are encouraged to attend.)

September 6: Sundaes on Sunday (Optional September Studies Event - All Residential and Day Students are invited)

September 10, 1-3pm: All move out of BHC residences to their fall housing assignments or student arranged off-campus housing; must return keys by 3 p.m.  Re-key charges after 3 p.m.  No Exceptions.

September 16: BHC Closing Reception (HumBio Poster Session and other BHC Student Research Presentations) (All Residential and Day Students are encouraged to attend.)

September 11-18: Host departments will arrange lunches
