We are pleased to be able to provide trained massage therapists to patients and family members. For patients, the massage therapists will go to their bedside and give comfort massages based on the needs of the patient. Family members and/or staff can go to designated areas in the hospital for a relaxing 15-minute chair massage.

  • We accept credit card, gift certificates and checks (Please make checks payable to Stanford Health Care). NO CASH ACCEPTED.
  • Gift certificates are available through Guest Services.

In-bed massage for patients

In-bed massage is available to any patient on request by patient, family, staff or physician regardless of the type and severity of their condition. Frequent benefits of massage include: releasing muscle tension, promoting relaxation, helping to alleviate pain and promoting rest and sleep.

In-patient massages can be scheduled:

  • Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 7:00pm
  • Saturday – Sunday, afternoon and evenings

The Stanford Center for Integrative Medicine can arrange massage therapy sessions for outpatients at their clinic rate.

Chair massage for guests and staff

Chair massage is available for guests and staff in two locations:

  • The E3 Hospitality Lounge on the 3rd floor of the main hospital 
  • The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is on the 1st floor of the Stanford Cancer Center.

Massages are available for $15.00 for 15 minutes.
