Music in patient rooms

Music allows patients and families to experience the healing value of music at their bedside and adds to a patient's recovery process. It can also bring comfort to those involved in end-of-life situations. This program provides music seven days a week for patients and visitors alike.

Our Hospital Musicians include harpists and guitar players: Barbary Grant, Verlene Schermer, and Pamela Bowen for the harp; and Jeff Buenz and Jim Nichols for the guitar. All room visit requests are free of charge. To request Bedside Music, please call Guest Services at 650-498-3333.

CDs for patients

Portable CD players and a selection of CDs are available for patients' use. Coordinators Fanny Zychlinsky and Wally Austin have diverse and extensive backgrounds in music. They will help you find the right music to soothe, calm, and energize.
