Directions & Parking (Important advisory regarding parking on Friday, February 13)

General Driving Directions

Stanford University is located about 30 miles south of San Francisco and about 20 miles north of San Jose, in Palo Alto. The campus is between the Bayshore Freeway (101) and the Junipero Serra Freeway (280). From 101, use the Embarcadero Road exit and follow the signs to Stanford. From 280, take the Sand Hill or Page Mill Road exits.

Important information – parking on Friday, February 13

Parking and traffic near Bing Concert Hall will be restricted due to President Obama’s visit on Friday, February 13. Conference attendees are strongly encouraged to use public transportation to reach campus if at all possible. Marguerite Shuttle Line P from the Palo Alto Caltrain Station will have an additional stop on Museum Way, near Bing Concert Hall. Bing Concert Hall is also accessible via the X and Y lines. If you are driving, we recommend parking in the paid lot at the Palo Alto Caltrain Station and utilizing the Marguerite shuttle service.

Paid on-campus parking will be available at the Track Lot, accessible via Galvez Street, and Parking Structure One, on Campus Loop between Quarry Road and Roth Way. Parking will NOT be available in the Galvez Lot.

Portions of Lasuen Street, Serra Street and Galvez Street will be completely closed to through traffic.

Parking on Saturday, February 14

Please allow 30 minutes to find parking and locate your seat before the conference start time. Parking areas near performance venues may fill quickly, depending on the size of the event and other simultaneously occurring events on campus. For comprehensive campus parking information and maps, visit the parking page in the Visitor Information section of the main Stanford website.

Parking is FREE on the Stanford campus in metered and lettered parking zones on weekdays after 4:00 PM and on weekends at all times. Disabled parking, loading, and service–vehicle restrictions are enforced at all times.

Parking for Bing Ticket Office and Bing Concert Hall can be found on Lasuen Street. Please note that visitor parking spots are metered prior to 4:00 PM on weekdays. Parking for Bing Ticket Office can also be found in the Galvez Lot.

Bike to the Bing!

Bing Concert Hall is a bicycle friendly venue with 244 racks available in front of the main entrance and student entrance. Bicycles are not allowed to obstruct walkways, railings, doorways or ramps intended for use by pedestrians or people with disabilities. Improperly parked bikes will be removed and impounded by Stanford Public Safety.
