John Bistline

Biography
John Bistline is a PhD candidate in the Department of Management Science and Engineering and a Research Fellow at the Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance at Stanford University. His dissertation research focuses on uncertainty analysis in the electric power sector and investigates questions related to capacity planning, R&D portfolio management, and fat-tailed uncertainty. He also works on projects in areas of climate policy, technological change, uncertainty quantification, and risk assessment.
Bistline holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University as well as a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
