Initiating the Saroyan Writing Prize would not have been possible without the support, moral and financial, of the William Saroyan Foundation and the Stanford University Libraries. Keeping the Prize active in future years, however, will depend on additional assistance on the part of the many friends of Mr. Saroyan and his legacy as well as supporters of writing and writers.
