Ken Schulz is Associate Vice President of the Office of Research Financial Compliance and Services which reports to the Vice President for Business Affairs and Chief Financial Officer. Ken leads several central administrative units of Stanford University that manage:
- University facilities and administrative rate development, negotiation and application
- Cost analysis studies and financial planning
- Sponsored billing and collection
- Property management
- Research financial reporting
- Service center policy and rate approval
- Research financial audit coordination and resolution
- Research financial compliance policy development in conjunction with the Dean of Research
Ken’s career in university administration spans 31 years at Stanford. He joined Stanford in 1981 as a financial analyst in the Controller’s Office. He has worked in various positions in the Controller’s Office and the Office of Research Administration, where Ken most recently held the position of Director of Research Administration Policy & Compliance before he was promoted to the Associate Vice President of Research Financial Compliance and Services in 2011. Ken currently serves on the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory Board of Overseers, the University Management Group, the Systems Governance Group, the Retirement Pension Investment Committee, and the Compliance and Ethics Steering Committee.
Ken graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration.
