Our mission is to create ideas that deepen and advance our understanding of management and with those ideas to develop innovative, principled, and insightful leaders who change the world.

We seek to attract faculty and students with high leadership potential. We engage in an academically rigorous, research-supported learning process, including interdisciplinary studies and community engagement. Classes are intimate and take full advantage of Stanford University and its surrounding communities. The impact of our ideas and our students extends globally in meaningful ways.

Dean, Stanford GSB (1969-1979)

When former Dean Arjay Miller created the Public Management and Social Innovation Program in 1971, he saw it as a bridge between industry and government. "Business is the most powerful force in our society," said Miller at a recent event, "and well educated businessmen will support needed social legislation instead of opposing it."
