Stanford Breast Cancer Program Expertise

With breast cancer the second leading malignancy among American women, chances are that you or someone you know and love will receive this diagnosis. Choosing the right cancer center from the start for your treatment can make a big difference.

Stanford's Breast Cancer program is located in the new Women's Cancer Center, a warm and welcoming facility that unites clinicians, researchers, and health care professionals in a nurturing environment.

    • Weekly multispecialty tumor board for challenging clinical dilemmas
  • Superior diagnostic capabilities:
    • Digital mammography, breast ultrasound, 3T breast MRI, image-guided breast core biopsy, body CT scans, body/brain MRI, PET/CT and bone scans
    • Sophisticated interventional radiology procedures
  • Advanced treatment options:
    • Breast conservation options for large or other complex primary tumors
    • Single dose intra-operative radiation therapy (IORT) and 3D conformal partial breast irradiation that minimize radiation post-lumpectomy
    • Nipple sparing mastectomy that leaves intact much or all of the normal skin of the breast
    • Breast reconstruction procedures that go beyond breast implants or conventional tissue flaps
    • Access to novel anti-cancer medications, new drug combinations and the latest clinical trials

Bring completed forms found in the Breast Cancer New Patient Letter.

Patients receiving breast reconstruction or plastic surgery should also bring the Breast Reconstruction Surgery New Patient Visit Questionnaire to their appointment.

MEDICAL RELEASE

Please fax the Medical Record Release Form to your new patient coordinator. The medical release form is an authorization form for external facilities to release medical records to Stanford Health Care (formerly Stanford Hospital & Clinics).
