Teaching Fellowships Rsearch Fellowships Conference Series

February, 2009 -  KSTF Teaching Fellows Kristen Fancher, Casey O'Hara, Liz Ratliff and Katey Shirey participate in a training program in Alaska that pairs teachers with polar researchers.  The fellows will be collaborating with scientists on Project IceCube, the largest research project ever attempted in Antartica.

The result of the first KSTF conference focusing on essential research on the preparation for secondary science teachers has been published by Sense Publishers.  The book entitled The Continuum of Secondary Science teacher Preparation: Knowledge, questions, and research recommendations was edited by KSTF executive director Angelo Collins and senior program officer, Nicole Gillespie.  Click here for more information.

Congratulations to the newly selected 2009 KSTF Research Fellows: Indigo Esmonde is currently an assistant professor the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. She received her doctoral degree from University of California, Berkeley. Alicia Alonzo is currently an assistant professor at University of Iowa and will be moving to Michigan State University in the fall.  She received her doctoral degree from California Institute of Technology.
