The Rangel Program is a unique partnership between Howard University and the U.S. Department of State, with strong support from the U.S. Congress.

Each year it offers 20 graduate fellowships. The program also accepts 15-20 undergraduate students to participate in the six-week Summer Enrichment Program.

The Award

The Fellowship welcomes applications from young people interested in careers of international service. For those who want to become Foreign Service Officers in the U.S. Department of State, the Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program provides:

  • Benefits of up to $90,000 over two years toward a two-year master's degree
