Grants: Introduction

Every year, Stanford Arts Institute helps fund hundreds of projects by Stanford University artists across artistic disciplines.

The Stanford Arts Institute offers grants to Stanford University students, faculty and academic staff members in order to weave arts experiences into the fabric of campus life. Our grants foster the communion of members of diverse communities and disciplines around art, support the vibrant student arts community, drive the innovation of new art forms and ways of engaging with art, and bring arts professionals onto campus to inspire and collaborate with students and practitioners.

Grants are available via three programs: artsCatalyst, Spark! grants, and grants for Programming and Events. artsCatalyst grants support arts endeavors in Stanford classrooms; Student Arts grants go to individuals and groups of students for extra-curricular projects; and grants for Programming and Events fund on-campus programming that connects art practice or performance to research and teaching through seminars, exhibitions, and public symposia.

For other arts grants offered elsewhere on campus, please check out UAR Student Grants and the Stanford Storytelling Project.
