Mailing Lists (Mailman)

Mailing lists are used to facilitate email communication within the campus community. Academic and administrative workgroups, student clubs and organizations, project groups and committees all use the service to create and manage lists and to send email to list members.

The Mailing List service is based on a local installation of Mailman, the GNU Mailing List Manager. The service runs on the mailman.stanford.edu server and provides built-in archiving, automatic bounce processing, spam and content filtering, and digest delivery.

Features

Use the Mailman Tools page to create, manage, view, and copy lists. List owners use this page as a starting point to request new lists and manage or administer existing lists. List subscribers start here to subscribe to a new list, to manage or unsubscribe from existing list memberships, and to manage preferences

Getting started

Before getting started, please review the Mailing List Service Policies and Guidelines for the appropriate use of this service. Use the Mailman Tools page to create, manage, view, and copy lists.
